Basic Rules of Conduct

Post by Admin on Mon Jan 28, 2008 6:42 pm

This group is made up of people from different locations, "seasons", and most importantly denominations in order to give a balanced opinion on topics in a friendly, supportive and open environment.

1. Never type in all capitals unless you intend to shout the message. The use of all capitals on the Internet is interpreted by regular users of the Internet as shouting, and is considered impolite. If you can not type with two hands, use all lower case rather than all capitals.

2. Remember- You do not have to read every message. If you do not have time to read every message, just scan through the list and pick out the ones that really interest you or have "ADMIN" in the subject. If there is an individual whose posts bother you but you like the rest of the list, just ignore or skim the messages that you don't want to read.

3. Do not flame. Flaming is a term used to describe angry 'heated' messages sent to another person in cyberspace. Be careful as to how you word a message, so that the recipient does not interpret your message as a flame. There are unfortunately those who will see a flame in a message that is not a flame, but one can only do so much to prevent bad feelings in those cases.

4. Remember the purpose of this list is to create a loving and encouraging environment, denominational discussions or topics of other "hot" nature will not be tolerated. Controversial or "hot" topics are reserved for the Debate Central Board. Please leave the debates there. Moderators reserve final say in whether a topic is "hot" or not and if any disciplinary action; warning, moderation etc. may need to be taken. Romans 14:19 "So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another."

5. If you will be going away for a few days or longer, please let the group know so we don't worry about you.

6. If you are having any problems with the list, or with changing your subscription, please contact the Moderators or Admin.

7. Please do not spam the list. This includes solicitations, requests for money, promoting, etc. A signature line ad is acceptable, if it is a reasonable length.

8. Please remember this is a public forum. All information is public.

9. One of the major purposes for this email list is to provide a place for fellowship where we can be ourselves. We want all our members to benefit from the fellowship available here, and if we don't hear from you it blocks the purpose from being met.

If you are in doubt about any of the guidelines, please feel free to contact the Edge Fellowship Cafe Moderation Team.
